Meet blockhead! The star of my new work The Wooly Man that'll be performed in a few weeks in a showcase through Virginia Stage Company entitled Four Artists: Four Voices.
I tried to create him from as much recycled material as I possibly could, in fact the majority of his skeleton is just rope, paper towel rolls and masking tape. All in all he was a little over ten dollars to make and he has a lot of personality to him.
The Wooly Man is based on a reoccurring nightmare I had when I was a child but, more than that, it tackles the tribulations of growing up but not growing old. It confronts the evolution of fear from young to old and gently carries to audience through not as spectators, but as participants.
The showcase will be performed on April 16. Feel free to contact me about information about it!
